We talked to the person responsible for supervising, managin | Codebridge Design

We talked to the person responsible for supervising, managing, and motivating team members daily. Oleksandra Hvozdovska, team leader in our #codebridgeteam, told us about life hacks at work, how to cooperate with designers and clients, and the main features of her position.

Sasha, how would you describe to a three-year-old child what you do?

I think that UI/UX designers and genies have more in common than anyone can imagine. We can make your wish come true, but you need to be specific to receive exactly what you wished for. You want a new Iron man figurine – I can give it to you, but it can be 10 meters and made of steel. But if you told me, ‘I want an Iron man figurine – the one from Avengers – in his superhero costume, make him fun and easy to play with’ – I could work with it and deliver you exactly what you wanted! So UI/UX design is really about communicating with the client, expressing his wishes, and me, like a genie, making them come true! Also, the critical difference between me and a genie – I can grant a lot more than three wishes!

How do you solve complicated work issues? Can you share life hacks?

I always make sure that the client and I, as a designer, are on the same page – that way, we can minimize struggles along the way. If the work is real, keep your temper cold, analyze the problem, and look at the project like you have never seen it before. And I know that I’m not alone; I have my fellow designers and project managers who can come to the rescue at any time – this sense of unity makes my job this good. One of my hacks in work – is to be a couple of steps ahead and know my scope for the next three days/a week. That way, I can use my time efficiently and avoid miscommunication.

What is the main feature of the team leader?

Creating trustworthy relationships with your team members is the main thing that you can do as a team leader. It’s all about being there for your colleagues, being open to new ideas, and listening to what they have to say. I’m always excited when I can help somebody with a fresh pair of eyes and give some advice or a new perspective.
