Пропала я на кілька днів, бо завтра маю останню лекцію, і на цей раз англійською і про меми. Мене запросив любий Українсько-Скандинавський Центр (і це хвилинка чесного захоплення, як вони викладають нордичні мови. Якщо ви давно мріяли, наприклад, про норвезьку — lykke til!)

На лекції буде дуже багато референсів до того, що я вже висвітлювала у статті для Їжакультури.

It may sound a bit surrealistic, but Ukrainians away from the frontlines are using jokes and humor as weapons. Which role does it play — defensive, distractive, or perhaps it helps to dehumanize the enemy? Maybe one should trace Ukrainian humor back to Cossack's times? How memes are changing whole nations' attitude and why there is so much food in our jokes?

Next Wednesday (28/12) at 19:00 (Kyiv time), we will discuss Ukrainian humor during the war, find out most popular punch lines, and will get to know how it affects Ukrainian self-identity.

Our speaker is Daria Antsybor, scholar in folklore and anthropology, Candidate of Philology studies.
