Padua, Italy, is where the Renaissance began. Back in that time, it was the cultural capital of Europe.
Today, Padua is showcasing an exhibition of paintings by Ukrainian artists, including the deceased Freikorps soldier and Kharkiv resident Artem Azarov (known as "Artist").
It is difficult to surprise the residents of this city with paintings of beautiful landscapes as they literally live among this beauty. Their admiration is caught, though, by what Old Europe has lost. These are the personality of the creator, the hero spirit, and the courage to live and create in these difficult historical times.
The Renaissance once thrived in Northern Italy, but now its spirit emerges from the East of Ukraine.
