100 years of war with russia
1917-21 - the Bolshevik war against UNR [the Ukrainian National Republic] and the occupation of Ukraine by the USSR;

1942-59 - war against the UPA [Ukrainska Povstanska Armiia - the Ukrainian Insurgent Army]. 153,000 killed. 134,000 repressed;
1960-89 - political repression of Ukrainian dissidents. 65% of prisoners in soviet concentration camps were Ukrainian political prisoners.
1991 - Declaration of Independence of Ukraine.
1994 - Ukraine renounces nuclear weapons and receives security assurances;
2013-14 – the Revolution of Dignity;
2014 - russia annexes Crimea and starts a war in Donbass;
24.02.2022 - russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
