A great opportunity has become available for a Duty Manager to join the team at B+B Edinburgh.

B+B Edinburgh is a privately-owned boutique bed and breakfast hotel. The B+B concept is the brainchild of a group of like-minded professional hoteliers who have rewritten the rules and created a new style of bed and breakfast hotel for the 21st century.

As well as stylish, comfortable bedrooms and delicious breakfasts, we are fully licensed. We have 27 bedrooms, ranging from smaller rooms for single occupancy to large family suites. The glorious Findlay Room creates a unique space for meetings and events

About the role:

· Previous experience working as a reception supervisor/duty manager

· Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments, ensuring exceptional guest service from all areas

· Support General Manager in ensuring all team members are aware of policies, procedures and brand standards in relation to guest satisfaction

· Give the best possible service to guests, ensuring all guests receive a personalised service reflecting their tastes


· Coordinate with housekeeping all arrivals, departures and guest requests

· Ensure a good level of local knowledge if the hotel and surrounding area

· Ensure that a thorough handover is completed at the end of each shift

· Check all floors and fire exits and public areas at least twice per shift

Applicants should have a pleasant personality and positive attitude.

Applicants must also be numerate, well-spoken and be able to communicate in written and spoken English.

Previous experience in the industry preferred

Customer service experience

Knowledge of cash management and bookkeeping procedures

Team management skills

Strong organizational skills

Experience with facilities maintenance and/or security

Strong problem-solving skills

Availability to work in shifts including weekends

This position gives an excellent grounding to progress in the hospitality industry.
