Interested in finding out more about the International Law of the Sea and how it works? If the answer is yes, you absolutely cannot miss out on the lecture «Dispute resolution under UN Convention on the Law of the Sea» by Olesia Gorbun.

Olesia is a PhD student at the Social Innovations Doctoral School of the Institute of International and European Union Law at Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania). She has previously worked as a legal trainee at the Pelecanos & Pelecanou and Andreas Danos Law Firms (Republic of Cyprus). Olesia has also participated in the Erasmus+ Studies in The University of Lisbon School of Law in Portugal and served as Vice President for Academic Activities at the NGO ELSA Kharkiv. In addition, she lectured during the Summer Law School on Maritime Law in Odessa, Ukraine, throughout 2018 and 2019.

The lecture will be held in English on Thursday, March 25th, at 18.00 and will consist of two parts:
- a theoretical part focusing on the mechanisms of maritime dispute resolution, institutions authorized to rule on such disputes and the scope of their jurisdiction, etc.
- followed by the practical analysis of the Dispute Concerning Coastal State Rights in the Black Sea, Sea of Azov, and Kerch Strait (Ukraine v. the Russian Federation).
