The largest empty building in the world
Ryugen Hotel is a monumental 105-storey and 330-meter pyramid in the center of Pyongyang. Its construction began in 1987 with the prosaic goal of building the largest hotel in the world, but something went wrong during the construction process.
After 35 years and $750 million, the hotel, which is the tallest building in all of North Korea, has not yet opened, although it was completed by 2016. The interior of this simultaneously ugly and beautiful giant remains a mystery.
