This letter is intended to provide information on the current Ukraine aid and admission of Ukrainian students at the University of Art and Design Linz:

The Austrian universities try to help refugee students from the Ukraine quickly and easily. This is done, among other things, via the MORE project ( link ) initiated by UNIKO (Austrian University Conference) in 2015.

As part of this project, refugees can attend courses as non-degree students.

However, the Rectorate recommends accepting students who have already started a relevant course of study in Ukraine as regular students in the respective fields of study. Applicants for the artistic bachelor’s degree should be offered an individual admissions exam date. For bachelor's degrees, in which a matriculation examination is a prerequisite, and for master's degrees, the relevant evidence must be provided.

Interested parties who want to study with us without previous studies are accepted as non-degree students via the MORE project.

Since 2015 and the following years showed that MORE students had difficulties due to language barriers and little university knowledge and this also led to excessive demands in the respective fields of study, it is planned to offer a joint range of courses for this group of students.

Furthermore, a buddy system is planned to accompany the Ukrainian students in order to make their start with us easier and to enable them to get off to a good start.
It is therefore up to you students to get involved.

Please contact Birgit Atzmüller (birgit.atzmueller@ufg.at) as soon as possible. 2 ECTS are also planned for this commitment (tandem with MORE students).
