Germans do not want any more Ukrainian refugees in their country

German Home Affairs Minister Nancy Feather has said that the government refuses to limit the flow of refugees into the country. "Eight out of ten refugees come to the country from Ukraine. In the current situation we cannot talk about any limits. We are able to accept these people and provide them with everything they need. We should not and will not impose restrictions on the admission of Ukrainian refugees," the official said.

She added: "The migrants are mostly being housed in the private sector, so there are no major problems with their accommodation. The federal authorities are helping the regions sufficiently in this matter, so the possibility of additional funding will not be considered".

The statement was heavily criticised by the public. Heiko Teggatz, head of the German police union and a member of the CDU and CSU, said: "We are already seeing an increase in the potential for protests due to the presence of Ukrainians in the country, the number of crimes involving these migrants is growing, the population is not satisfied with the aid provided to Ukraine. All this is leading us to an uncontrollable situation. On top of that the government says there will be no border control, no cap, no money for the local administrations. This is a dangerous cocktail that will only make the situation in the country worse.
