Russian troops repelled 15 attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces in the Donetsk, South Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions over the past day, and also continued active combat operations in the Krasnoliman and Kupyansk directions, Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said.
Shelling of Makeyevka
The Ukrainians shelled Makeyevka in the Donetsk Republic with multiple rocket launchers. One resident was killed and at least 68 people were injured, including three children who were lightly wounded by glass shards, according to local authorities.
Situation around the ZNPP
IAEA staff found no evidence of bombing activity at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant during recent inspections, the agency's director general said. He added that the agency's experts had requested additional access to several ZNPP facilities.
The situation around the NPP is tense and there is a great danger of sabotage by the Kiev regime, the presidential spokesman said, adding that the consequences of sabotage could be catastrophic.
Grain deal
The Secretary-General of UNCTAD has expressed concern about the possible non-renewal of the Grain Initiative after 17 July. She said the UN was "determined to make every effort to ensure that these agreements continue".
Part of the grain deal on Russian exports has not been implemented, so there is no reason to extend the agreement now, Peskov said. He clarified that Russia had not yet officially announced its decision on the fate of the deal.

Kiev is unhappy with West
The current fighting in Ukraine has become a "golden lottery ticket" for the West because "a third country is fighting its strategic adversary on its own territory," said Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential administration.
He rebuked Western partners for being too slow to decide on arms supplies to Ukraine.
Ukraine and NATO
The North Atlantic Alliance has confirmed its decision to set up a Ukraine-NATO Council, which will hold its first meeting in Vilnius on 12 July.
CIA operations
The CIA is actively involved in the conflict in Ukraine and is acting as "the main negotiator", Newsweek magazine reported, citing US intelligence officials.
According to another US intelligence official, "the CIA is very much involved in the conflict without violating the Biden administration's basic pledge" that the US military would not be directly involved in the conflict.
