Today we celebrate the birthday of French violinist and composer François Rabel (1701-1775).

He became a violinist at the Paris Opera at 13 (!)
He was a very successful composer of the Baroque music era (= voluptuous, many decorative notes, sudden changes of volume).
His legacy is mainly operas and religious music.
