Important #math of #war

My dear friends in the USA, Italy, Singapore, Germany. Aren’t you concerned about the growing prices of fuel for your car, electricity, and gas? I am sure you are! How much more would you spend in 2022 for these purposes and how much would it hurt?

Do some math please and write the number in the comments or just keep it for yourself.

Now, multiply this number by two. That’s the worst-case scenario, which probably only applies to people in Europe but let’s do it anyhow. Hurts more, doesn’t it?

Now, let’s weigh this number one side of the scale, and on the other side put the following alternative.

Imagine you are now in the trench, being shelled from artillery, helicopters, fighter jets and your kids are hiding in the shelter without food, running water, heating, and medicine. Imagine, that your house is looted and then completely destroyed and the business you built over the years is gone or you no longer have job because your country is at war.

Think of your close civilian friends – one of them was killed by a drunk soldier who came from russia, another one raped. Imagine that you know someone, who’s child was killed by a shell, which hit a playground and you just saw a lady in russia who posts pictures wearing things taken from your home.

Would you prefer the second option, or would you rather pay more for the gas and energy?

It is not some kind of a theoretical consideration – this is the reality you might be facing if Ukraine fails.

Germans, you might end up in trenches yourselves because there is nothing more one hundred million russians want than to see your country, not Ukraine, ruined and burning. I follow Russian media and social networks of these people and they want that more than anything else in their lives.

Americans, majority of russians think they are wasting time in Ukraine, and they should instead be bombing New York, Washington DC, LA and other major places in your country.

Would you agree to double your energy bill for a couple of years in exchange for the life of your child? Would you rather pay more for fuel in your car but keep your job or maintain your business or losing business is a better idea than paying more for the natural gas?

Ukraine is not a wealthy country, but it resists well and slowly beats the shit out of the second largest army of the world, paying a very high price for this war. Most people have no jobs, their savings and property are gone, their relatives and friends, including children are being killed. Brave Ukrainians are losing lives while protecting Berlin, New York, Paris, Kuala-Lumpur, Astana, Chisinau, Tbilisi, Rome and the rest of the democratic world.

Germans, while you are counting the GDP digits you might lose if you stop buying stinky russian gas, you are financing the massacres in Bucha, Mariupol, Irpin, Trostyanets and other places. Right now, while you are having a glass a wine, russists are burining tens of thousands of bodies of Ukrainian civilians in Mariupol trying to cover up their crimes. Your moderate fuel bill today has just paid for another russian missile, which killed a child in Kharkiv. Your 0.01 percentage points of GDP just supported the kidnapping of thousands of Ukrainian children in Mariupol, who are taken to russia!

Guess what? Doing this, you are also financing the death of your kids and civilians in the future. Let me repeat it – russians will not stop in Ukraine if they succeed. To stop them Ukraine requires quick and consistent supplies of modern military equipment not the rusty stuff, which is mostly sent today. We need tactical medicine, we need airplanes, we need drones, and we need an immediate embargo on russian gas, oil, coal, and any business with this aggressive country.
