1. Ми занадто часто покладаємось на інтуїцію. Насправді вона часто помиляється. Щоб інтуїція допомагала приймати правильні рішення, потрібно, щоб виконувалося три умови. 1) потрібний якийсь постійний досвід, переживання, практикування (професія, хоббі): інтуіцію не можна розвинути на рівному місці, це відображення досвіду.
2) Потрібний зворотній зв'язок, який дозволить вам зрозуміти, наскільки ваша інтуїція підказала "правильний шлях".
3) Потрібна рутина у набутті досвіду і зворотнього зв'язку, незмінність умов, в яких ви отримуєте досвід і зв'язок, можливість порівняти себе "сьогодні" і себе "вчора". Якщо умови постійно змінюються, дуже важко розвинути інтуїцію.

2. Людям не потрібні факти, щоб вірити. Вони спочатку вірять, а потім шукають факти, які допомагають їм укріпитися у власній вірі.

3. Правда дуже болюча. Дізнатися правду - дуже дорого коштує. Вся твоя віра в щось вище, краще руйнується. Для більшості людей не знати може бути кращим і більш прийнятним вибором, ніж дізнатися і зруйнувати свою картину світу.

Власне, тому спроби "донести" до росіян правду (навіть про Бучу і Маріуполь) або пробитися крізь їхню пропаганду майже завжди приречені на невдачу. Пропаганда працює таким чином, що у них немає доступу до правди, немає розуміння, що те, що вони роблять, є неправильним і неприйнятним, і немає постійного практикування загальноетичних норм. Пропаганда творить альтернативну картину світу, в якій не відбувається стандартного циклу навчання. Відкрити / Коментувати

On April 12 a public lecture «The marvels and the flaws of human kind» will take place by Daniel Kahneman. Deniel is an Israeli-American psychologist and economist notable for his work on the psychology of judgment and decision-making, as well as behavioral economics, for which he was awarded the 2002 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences (shared with Vernon L. Smith).

In 2011, he was named by Foreign Policy magazine in its list of top global thinkers. In 2015, The Economist listed him as the seventh most influential economist in the world. Відкрити / Коментувати

The Russian army again used phosphorous bombs to shell Marinka in the Donetsk region. Three other settlements in the region were shelled: no civilians were injured, but several houses were damaged.

According to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, Russia is transferring some of its troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv areas toward Kharkiv and Donetsk. Yesterday, there were reports that Russian troops were withdrawing from Kyiv and Chernihiv. However, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine claimed that Russia has not yet given up trying to capture or at least surround these cities.

In Dnipro, a Russian airstrike completely destroyed another oil reserve. Also, in the cities of Lisichansk and Chernihiv, objects of civilian infrastructure (residential buildings mostly) were shelled and badly damaged.

The Russian Army shelled Kharkiv with all types of weapons today. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Russians do not aim fire, but chaotically fire shells from rocket-propelled grenade launchers, artillery, and mortars.

In the occupied territories of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, the Russians plant mines which are prohibited by international conventions (which Russia has never joined). They use seismic sensors that can distinguish human walking. After the signal on the sensor is triggered, the warhead of the mine flies upwards by 1 - 1.5 m (4-5 ft) and explodes. The mine can be deadly within a radius of 16 meters.

After the liberation of Irpin, the local administration estimates that about 200 civilians and 16 members of territorial defense were killed in the city. Some bodies were buried in streets and yards, not all of them were identified. The city is still shelled by the Russian army. Streets are still dangerous because of land mines and the remains of shells.

The Russian Navy blocks access to Ukrainian ports, which effectively stops all grain exports from Ukraine. According to local reports, they keep 94 vessels from carrying food for the world market.

In Zaporizha oblast, no single humanitarian corridor was open today. Negotiations about opening the corridors continue. French President Emmanuel Macron had a phone conversation with Putin. No agreement about the evacuation from Mariupol was achieved. On the positive side, five hundred civilians were evacuated from Luhansk oblast.

Mariupol City Council claimed that occupants kidnapped and transported to Russia over 70 people from the maternal hospital, both patients and medical personnel. According to the Council estimates, over 20 thousand Ukrainians have already been kidnapped from Mariupol. The Ministry of foreign affairs estimates the total number of kidnapped Ukrainians at 40,000.

Russia withdraws some troops from Kyiv and Chernihiv, as they failed to achieve the initial goals. At the same time, the threat of strikes on military and civilian infrastructure remains high - General Staff of Ukraine

Negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian sides took place in Turkey. Ukraine suggested the following steps to end the war:
- Sign an international agreement that will firmly fix security guarantees for Ukraine. Among the guarantors, Ukraine suggests the UN Security Council countries, including the United Kingdom, China, the United States, France, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Poland, and Israel.
- The guarantor countries will be required to provide assistance, including military and sky protection, after at most three days of mutual consultations.
Ukraine invites other countries to join this security agreement as equal partners.
- Issues with the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea are postponed at the moment, the guarantors will not work in these territories yet

The Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, and the Czech Republic decided to expel Russian diplomats for alleged espionage. In the previous days, all three Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) also declared several Russian diplomats “personas non grata”.

Ukrainian Prime-minister Denys Shmyhal announced today that the estimated losses of Ukraine at the moment have reached $1 trillion USD (including the immediate infrastructure loss, 35% GDP fall this year, and an estimated GDP decrease in the following years compared to the pre-war period).
