ChatGPT is launching an AI-written e-book boom on Amazon. Even those who have never seriously considered a career as a writer can try to sell their book written with ChatGPT.

For example, Brett Schickler built a 30-page illustrated children's e-book in a couple of hours using AI software, which can generate blocks of text from basic instructions, and offered it for sale in January through Amazon's self-publishing unit. The Wise Little Squirrel: A Tale of Saving and Investing, available on Amazon Kindle for $2.99 or $9.99 for the print version brought Schickler around $100, he says. While that may seem like a small amount, it’s enough to inspire him to write other books using the software.

Another author, Kamil Banc, bet his wife he could make a book from conception to publication in less than one day. Using ChatGPT, an AI image creator and prompts like “write a bedtime story about a pink dolphin that teaches children how to be honest,” Banc published an illustrated 27-page book in December. Available on Amazon, “Bedtime Stories: Short and Sweet, For a Good Night’s Sleep” took Banc about four hours to create, he said.

And now there are more than 200 books written with the help of AI on Amazon.

Event speakers Stanislav Podyachev (tonai.app) and Evgen Pentsak (The head of MBAF) discussed the importance of proper prompts, real use cases and future perspectives.

While some are mulling over conspiracy theories, others are looking for ways to use the power of AI to develop, simplify routine tasks and generate income. Talking about real use cases: speakers showed how to launch a business using three different AI tools.

And even though AI is still at an early stage of development, it is already important to master the technology of working with AI tools.
