It seems we know everything about Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Buuut, we tried to fascinate you with some little known facts about the painting.
Leonardo didn't sign or put a date on the painting, so there is no exact year of its creation.
The painting was attacked numerous times, hence the bulletproof encasement.
Mona Lisa has her own mailbox in the Louvre for fun letters.
Not fact but story: Leonardo hired musicians to play in the background to support the model during long hours of posing.

Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, King Kong — we're not just listing classic Hollywood movies here. All scopes for these pictures were written by composer Max Steiner. And it's his birthday today (1888).
He wrote his first opera at the age of 12 and started a career at 15.
Steiner gained the name "the father of film music," creating ~300 scores for movies.
He was the first to win Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score (for Life with father).
Today let's listen to one of his signature compositions

Today's birthday of the artist Giovanni Niccolò Servandoni (1695), a master of trompe-l'oeil. What's this?
Trompe-l'oeil is a special art technique to create an optical illusion. It means "deceive the eye."
Examples: painted window and out-of-window space to create an illusion of more space, 3 dimensions objects, people stepping out of the painting's frame, etc.
Here are some works from different times with trompe-l'oeil techniques.

Today's the birthday of Dutch-American painter Willem de Kooning (1904-1997).
His style was abstract expressionism (abstraction+vivid colors).
His work "Interchange" is the second most pricey painting globally: $343 million.
Quote: "Art should not have to be a certain way. It is no use worrying about being related to something it is impossible not to be related to.”

She won several Grammy Awards, like for the recording of Puccini’s La bohème in 1968.
She worked in theatres all over Europe and the United States.
She released a duet with Freddie Mercury on the song "Barcelona."
