This is partly an investigation into the center of mass and conditions for objects to fall over, and partly a craft project. The students would need access to:
some cardboard (like a cereal box or similar);
scissors;
something to weight the ends of the bird’s wings (like paper clips);
colored pencils.

What it is like to fly an airplane, an introduction to how you need to use a map, and all the topics you need to learn to successfully plan a flight. Again it would be open ages, but specific math information and language geared to students above the age of 10.
